Board of Directors

ELIZABETH LEWINSOHN

Chair

Founder, Community First Fund

Elizabeth is a lifelong New Yorker, community leader, and experienced public servant who has spent more than a decade serving on Manhattan Community Board 1, where she has worked on land use, quality-of-life, parks, and other local issues and currently serves on multiple committees. As Board Chair of Gotham Park, the nonprofit championing creation of a new public park at the Manhattan landing of the Brooklyn Bridge, she has led efforts to secure funding and open new accessible green space for the neighborhood. Earlier in her career she was Director of Policy and Plans for the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau, bringing a focus on safety and strategic planning to her civic work. A longtime Lower Manhattan resident, mother, and advocate for vibrant, inclusive public spaces, Lewinsohn combines community experience with deep neighborhood roots in her leadership.
