Spring 2024
During the 2024 spring semester, FIT's Graduate Program in Exhibition and Experience Design students collaborated with Gotham Park as part of their Exhibition Graphics I course.
The objective of this project was to introduce students to graphic fundamentals through branding, wayfinding, and placemaking design through the proposal of an interpretive graphic historical tour at Gotham Park. Working with Gotham Park representatives Rosa Chang, Megan Brosterman, and Ariel Wilson, students first documented the existing circulation, graphic language, selected stories called “Gotham Park Gems,” existing signage, and materials. Then, each student created a branded graphic wayfinding/placemaking design package and presented it to the Gotham Park team.
Gotham Park's team was blown away by the creativity and ingenuity of these talented designers' work. We are incredibly grateful for this partnership with FIT Professor Christina Lyons, facilitated by Rebecca Sperling, Design Lead at IDEO, and we look forward to future collaborations.
