We need recreation space that engages people of all ages and abilities. The global pandemic has focused attention on the necessity for safe outdoor exercise options. We will integrate flexible equipment that will be accessible, address a variety of capabilities, strengths, sizes and ages. A significant portion of our immediate population is elderly and mobility-challenged - our playgrounds should be responsive to our community's specific needs.
There are many schools in the area, all of whom have need for exterior recreation space.
Gotham Park has basketball, pickleball, handball and shuffleboard courts already opened as of May 2023, with more open space suitable for a variety of sports and activities coming online by the end of 2024.
We are working with our local schools to ensure this space serves the needs of our youth.
